FrontPage

Welcome to the Freeola Internet customer support pages. This guide is designed to help with uploading a website via FTP using Microsoft Frontpage. For more internet help topics please visit our main Support Page.

Please Note

Frontpage is no longer available to purchase, and support for this product was withdrawn by Microsoft in 2006.

As support and development for this software has been withdrawn we no longer recommend using this to upload your files to your Freeola Hosting Service.

However, this guide will remain available for reference purposes.

If you are looking to upload your website files we would recommend the Filezilla FTP Client, a secure, supported, software designed specifically for uploading your files via FTP.

  1. With your website files open within the software select the Publish Site from the File Menu.

  2. In the Remote Web Site Properties window choose FTP then enter your website address, prefixed with ftp://, in the Remote Website Location field. For example, if your website is www.example.com you would enter ftp://example.com.

Now enter htdocs (public_html for SSD Hosting subscribers) in the FTP Directory field and select Use Passive FTP. Click OK.

  3. You should now be prompted for a Name and Password:
Name: This will be your FTP Username and will begin with cp, vip or sr.
Password: This will be your FTP password.

If you are unsure of either of these bits of information, you can confirm this easily from the My Websites section of your MyFreeola Control Panel.

  4. You will now see two windows, one headed Local and the other Remote. To publish your website simply drag the desired files and folders from the Local pane to the Remote pane (or vice versa if you wish to download content from the server).

This process should occur automatically, but you may need to select the Publish Web Site button to start or complete this process.
