While this guide was written using the model C64 AC1200 as a base, these instructions should still be correct for other models of the hardware, albeit with some slight wording and visual differences.
In order to configure your router you will need to be connected to it either wirelessly or via an Ethernet cable (a wired connection is recommended). Once connected, open your chosen internet browser (Firefox, Edge, Chrome, Safari etc.).
In the address bar of your web browser enter the default IP address of the router, http://192.168.0.1.
If you are unsure of where the address bar is on your software, the keyboard shortcut of Ctrl+L is widely used to highlight this field. When logging into the router for the first time you will be prompted to create a new Administrator Password. Once you have created your Password, click Let's Get Started to begin the Setup Wizard.
The router will now begin the Quick Setup Wizard. For the purposes on this guide, we will be setting up the connection manually, so click Skip. This should present you with the Main Menu.
Should you wish to access the Quick Setup in the future, this can be accessed from the Advanced > Quick Setup menu options.
To set your Internet Connection Settings select Internet from the Top Menu.
The new page, Internet, will offer three options:
Internet Connection Type - PPPoE
Username - Enter your Freeola supplied Connection Username, which will be in the format of [email protected].
Password - Enter your Freeola supplied Connection Password.
Your Connection Information will have been sent to you via e-mail before your activation, and can also be accessed by selecting Broadband Details and Usage from within your MyFreeola Control Panel.
Click Save to save this information. Your router should now connect automatically, but a restart may be required in some circumstances.
If you are already logged into your router, please skip to Step 2. Otherwise, in the address bar of your web browser enter the default IP address of the router, http://192.168.0.1, then enter the Login Username and Password (found on the router) when prompted.
If you are unsure of where the address bar is on your software, the keyboard shortcut of Ctrl+L is widely used to highlight this field. The Wireless Settings page will now appear, allowing you to configure your wireless network:
Smart Connect - Enable this option to share the SSID and Password between both 2.4GHz and 5GHz Networks. Unless you have a specific reason to separate these, enabling this option is recommended, but for the purposes of this guide, we have unticked this option.
