Setting up a Freeola email account in the Samsung Mail App

Welcome to the Freeola Internet customer support pages. This guide is designed to help with setting up a Freeola email address on the Samsung Mail App on a Samsung mobile device. For more internet help topics please visit our main Support Page.

Before Continuing

Please visit your MyFreeola account and make a note of the following information before continuing, you'll need to know this for later on in the guide:

1 - What protocol your e-mail address is set up to use (IMAP or POP3).

2 - What service is assigned to your e-mail address (EmailPro, Free Email or One Address).

3 - Your e-mail address password.

You can find this information by clicking Email Settings in the left-hand navigation in MyFreeola, then My Email Addresses. You should then be able to click Settings & Features button next to the relevant e-mail address to view all required email settings.

This guide covers both setting up your account for the first time, as well as editing an account already in place, and assumes you have already downloaded and installed the Samsung Mail App. If you do not already have this, please download this before continuing.

Adding an Address
  1. Open the Email application.

  2. Select the Menu Icon (this will look like three horizontal lines) then tap the Settings Icon (a cog).

  3. You should now be on a page headed Email Settings, which will display any previously added email accounts. Tap Add Account then Other.

  4. Enter your Email Address and Password in the fields provided, then select Manual setup.

  5. Now choose the Account Type, either POP or IMAP.

    You can confirm via your MyFreeola Control Panel if you are unsure.

  6. On the Server Settings page, firstly enter the Incoming Server information:

    • POP/IMAP server will be yourdomainname.freeolamail.net where 'yourdomainname' is your domain name with any dots (.) replaced with hyphens (-).

      For example, if your domain name was freeola.co.uk, the incoming mail server would be freeola-co-uk.freeolamail.net.

    • Security type will be SSL.

    • Port will be 993 for IMAP or 995 for POP accounts.

    • IMAP path prefix (if applicable) can be left blank.

  7. Now for the Outgoing server:

    • SMTP server should be set to smtp.freeolamail.net.

      Please Note: This server is only accessible if you are subscribed to our EmailPro or One Address services or are using a Freeola Internet connection.

    • Security type will be SSL.

    • Port will be 465.

    • Require authentication to send emails needs to be enabled.

  8. Finally, tap Sign in to finish setting up your email account.

Editing the settings of an Address
  1. Open the Email application.

  2. Select the Menu Icon (this will look like three horizontal lines) then tap the Settings Icon (a cog).

  3. You should now be on a page headed Email Settings, which will display your previously added email accounts. Choose the account you wish to edit the settings for.

  4. To edit Usernames, Passwords and Server Settings, scroll to the bottom of the following page and tap Server settings under the Advanced Settings tab.

  5. You can now edit the settings to ensure they are correct as listed in the above steps or your MyFreeola Control Panel.

Deleting an Address
  1. Open the Email application.

  2. Select the Menu Icon (this will look like three horizontal lines) then tap the Settings Icon (a cog).

  3. You should now be on a page headed Email Settings, which will display your previously added email accounts. Choose the account you wish to edit the settings for.

  4. Click on the Remove button at the top right corner to delete the address (and all associated email messages) from the App and Device.

  5. Your Freeola account will now be deleted from the Mail App.
