Important

We recommend that you change your passwords if you suspect they may have been compromised in any way.

Advice on Selecting a Secure Password:
In the interests of security we at Freeola advise that you use the most secure password possible.

General tips include avoiding people's names, places, dictionary words and birthdays as these are easily guessed. We recommend that all passwords be combinations of letters and numbers (maybe even with varying capitalisation), to make them even harder to guess.

To change your MyFreeola Username or Password
  1. Log in to your MyFreeola account.

  2. Click on the My Account Details heading on the left-hand menu, then Contact & Login Details.

  3. Next to each of your Login E-mail and Login Password you will a Change option. Click this button to amend either piece of information.

  4. Type in the details that you would like to change and click Continue to save this.

To change your Internet Connection Password
  1. There is currently no facility to change your internet connection password via your MyFreeola Control Panel. If you would like to change your internet connection password please contact Freeola Support.

To change your E-Mail Password
  1. Enter the MyFreeola control panel that manages your e-mail address.

  2. Click the Email Settings link from the left-hand menu, then My Email Addresses from the expanded section.

  3. You will see all e-mail addresses connected with your MyFreeola account on the page that appears, scroll down the page (you can filter by domain name by using the drop-down menu) until you find the e-mail address you want to change the password for.

  4. Click on the button that says Settings & Features next to the address.

  5. On the next screen, click the button that says Change Password.

  6. Enter your new choice of password into both boxes and press the Continue button to make the changes. Use the Password Strength section of this page to judge how secure your chosen password is.

  7. You'll see a message confirming the change and now you'll need to change the password within your e-mail program. While this process is quite easy, if you're unsure of how to do this you could refer to our pages for setting up e-mail addresses - you'll find links to these on the Freeola Customer Support Homepage.

You can also change your password through the Freeola Webmail page.

  1. Log into the e-mail address from the Freeola Webmail page.

  2. Once logged in, select Settings from the top-right hand corner.

  3. Select Login Details from either the top tab menu or the icon on this page.

  4. Enter your current password for verification purposes, before entering your new password in the two fields provided.

  5. Click Save to finish.

To change your VIP or Standard Hosting FTP (Webspace) Password
  1. Enter MyFreeola

  2. Click the My Websites link from the Web Sites & Hosting section of the left-hand menu.

  3. A list of your Freeola hosted websites will appear. Scroll through the list until you find the site address you are looking for.

  4. Click on the button that reads Options & FTP Settings.

  5. The next screen will list the current FTP username and password combination. In order to change this password click the button that says Change Password.

  6. The Random Password Generator will now display that will generate a new password for you. To ensure your website content remains secure, you are not able to pick your own password. Click Generate New Password.

  7. You will now be taken back to the FTP Details page, where the new password will be displayed.

To change your SSD Hosting Password
  1. Log into your MyFreeola account.

  2. From the left-hand menu expand the Websites & Hosting section then click SSD Hosting.

  3. From the SSD Hosting page click Quick Login to open cPanel.

    You can also access cPanel through https://yourdomain.com/cpanel (where yourdomain.com is replaced by your domain name)
  4. Now scroll down to the Preferences section and click Password & Security.

  5. Enter your existing password in the Old Password field before typing your new password within the New Password and New Password (Again) fields.

    cPanel requires your password to be at least 5 characters in length, must not have been used previously and must have a 'strength' of at least 65 (indicated below the password fields)

    If you are struggling to think of a suitable password the Password Generator will create a qualifying password for you.
  6. To save your new password, click Change your password now.
