Last updated on by Freeola Support

Welcome to the Freeola Internet customer support pages. This guide is designed to help with setting up a Freeola email address on the Samsung Jet. For more internet help topics please visit our main Support Page.

Please note

This guide is for a very specific version of legacy Samsung software. If you are looking at adding your e-mail account to a more modern Android application please visit our Email Support Page.

Before Continuing

Please visit your MyFreeola account and make a note of the following information before continuing, you'll need to know this for later on in the guide:

1 - What protocol your e-mail address is set up to use (IMAP or POP3).

2 - What service is assigned to your e-mail address (EmailPro, Free Email or One Address).

3 - Your e-mail address password.

You can find this information by clicking Email Settings in the left-hand navigation in MyFreeola, then My Email Addresses. You should then be able to click Settings & Features button next to the relevant e-mail address to view all required email settings.

  1. Firstly you will need to press Messages then select Email inbox. You should then be greeted with a message saying "Welcome to the Email setup wizard". Press OK to enter the setup.

  2. You will then be asked to specify your email provider. As Freeola is not listed, you will need to select Other email accounts.

  3. The setup wizard will then prompt you to enter an Account Name. This will be the name that the phone will use to refer to this account and should be set to something specific to the email address that you are setting up. Press Next to continue.

  4. You will then be prompted to enter your Email Address and Password. The Email Address field should be set to the email address that you are attempting to set up, and the Password field should be set to the password which was obtained from within your MyFreeola Account. Press Next to continue.

  5. On the next step you will be asked to enter some details about Freeola's servers. The incoming mail server type is IMAP or POP3 depending on the setting in your MyFreeola account (default is POP3). The server address is yourdomainname.freeolamail.net where 'yourdomainname' is your domain name with any dots ( . ) replaced with hyphens ( - ).

For example, if your domain name was freeola.co.uk, the incoming mail server would be freeola-co-uk.freeolamail.net.

  6. The Outgoing Mail Server will need to be set to smtp.freeolamail.net. Once you have entered the server details, press Next to continue.

Please Note: This server is only accessible if you are subscribed to our EmailPro or One Address services or are using a Freeola Internet connection.

  7. You should now be advised by the phone that "You have configured this email account successfully". However, as the phone has not yet requested some of the required information, more steps are required to complete the setup. Press OK to continue.

  8. You should be taken to the Email inbox page and will need to select the option to Edit Account from the bottom of the screen. You should then see the account name that you provided previously listed. Press the account name to proceed.

  9. After pressing the account name, you will be taken to all of the settings for the current email address. From this page you will need to scroll to the User name setting and enter your email address.

You should also set the SMTP port to 587 and tick the box labelled SMTP auth. and the box labelled Same as POP3/IMAP4 to enable you to send messages.

  10. Now press Save and your email account should now be set up and ready for use.
