Welcome to the Freeola Internet customer support pages. This guide is designed to help with uploading a website via FTP to a Freeola SSD Hosting service using the File Manager feature within cPanel. For more internet help topics please visit our main Support Page.

The feature is only available on Freeola SSD Hosting packages via the included cPanel software.

  1. If you would like to upload files to your website through cPanel's File Manager you will first need to log into your cPanel dashboard.

    • To log in directly - Visit yourdomainname.com/cpanel (replacing yourdomainname.com with your domain) and enter your cPanel Username and Password in the fields provided.
      cPanel Login Screen

    • To log in via MyFreeola - Visit your MyFreeola Control Panel and login. Once logged in, select Websites & Hosting then SSD Hosting from the left-hand menu. From the screen that appears, click Quick Login next to your SSD Hosting subscription.

  2. Once logged in, select File Manager from the Files section of the cPanel Dashboard.
    cPanel File Manager

  3. This will open the cPanel File Manager, showing you an overview of all folders and files on your webspace. From the left-hand pane of this page, select public_html.
    cPanel File Manager Folder List
This will update the main body of the page to show the contents of this folder, into which your files should be uploaded.

  4. To upload your website, click Upload from the top menu.
    cPanel File Manager Upload Button

  5. A new tab will open, cP File Upload. On this screen first decide if you would like to overwrite files already in place (essential if you have made updates to pages already uploaded). To do so, tick the box next to Overwrite existing files.
    Overwrite Exsiting Files

  6. To start uploading your files either click the Select File option and choose your desired file(s) from the window that opens, or drag and drop your files from a folder open on your computer.
    cPanel FTP Upload Options

  7. Your files will now be uploaded by the software, with a progress bar for each - larger files will take longer to upload.
    File Upload Progress
After all files are uploaded, you can close this tab to return to the File Manager window.

  8. To see your newly uploaded files, click Reload from the menu above the file/folder pane.
    cPanel File Manager File Pane

  9. Unless you wish to upload more files, add new folders, rename or move files, you can now safely close to this window.
