Welcome to the Freeola Internet customer support pages. This guide is designed to help with setting up your router to work with Freeola Broadband. For more internet help topics please visit our main Support Page.

These instructions apply to the BT Voyager 190 ADSL Modem Router. The settings may also apply to other BT Voyager router models.

  1. Connect your router to the telephone line using an RJ-11 cable and microfilters. Now connect the router to at least one computer via an Ethernet cable. The network connection on the computer should be set to automatically look up an IP Address via DHCP (don't worry - if you're using a modern version of Windows and you've never used your network connection before, it's most likely already set up to do this).

  2. On the computer connected to the router, load your internet web browser and visit the following internet address: http://192.168.1.1, this will open up the routers own configuration pages. You will need to type in the username and password to progress further, by default, these are admin and admin respectively.

  3. Once logged in, you will be presented with a page asking you to set-up your connection, from the left-hand navigation select Quick Setup, on the new page ensure the option Auto Scan Internet Connection (PVC) is unticked. Within the VPI and VCI fields, enter the values 0 and 38 respectively.

    Click Next to continue.

  4. The next screen asks for modulation settings for your connection, from the available options please select PPP over ATM (PPPoA) and VC-MUX.

    Next to continue.

  5. The IP Address and MTU settings are entered on the next page, these can be left at their default settings. The Next button will take us to the ADSL information screen.

  6. This page requires you to enter your ADSL username and password within the relevant fields. The PPP User Name is in the format of [email protected], [email protected] or [email protected]. The PPP Password will, by default, be a random string of characters.

If you are unsure of this information it is listed within your MyFreeola account under the Broadband Details section.

  7. You also need to ensure that the connection is set to be Always On, failure to do this can cause connection issues.

  8. On the next page will be listed the LAN Settings, these should be left at their default values.

Next will take you to the last page.

  9. You should now be seeing a summary page of all information we have entered previously. It is wise here to check details, such as your username and password, are entered correctly. Once you are satisfied this information is correct select Finish.

  10. The router will now reboot while it saves the information and attempts to connect to the internet, this can take up to a couple of minutes, in which time the router will power-down before restarting itself.

  11. After 2 minutes the router should be fully rebooted and all 4 lights on the hardware should be lit signifying a connection to the internet.

  12. Finally, open your web browser once again to surf the internet with Freeola broadband!
