Using Freeola Sites Showcase to Boost Your Search Engine Ranking

The Freeola Site Directory is a brilliant place to promote your website and boost traffic. Not only will your website benefit from increased exposure, but it's a great way for popular search engines to find and list your website too!

If your website is hosted with Freeola, you can promote your website in our directory completely free of charge.

Even if your website is held elsewhere, we offer a Premium Listing feature which will not only allow you to enter your website into the Directory, but also place it prominently at the top of the Category Page.

While search engines don't make public everything they use to rank your website within their databases, it appears from our own observations that, alongside ensuring that your site is up-to-date and full of relevant content, having busy, popular, well-ranked websites link to yours is a huge benefit.

As Freeola is well regarded by the most popular search engine websites, having a direct link, your website name and some 'blurb' about your site on a highly visited page on Freeola.com can provide tangible benefits to your search engine ranking!

In order to add your website to the Freeola Site Directory you will first need to log into the managing MyFreeola account.

Once logged in, select Websites & Hosting then Website Promotion from the left-hand navigation menu. The page you now see will list all of the addresses you are able to add, click Set-Up next to your website address to continue.

The following page will allow you to enter the information required in order to display your website within the Directory.

Web Site Title - A headline for your listing, usually your domain name or company/organisation name.

Web Site Description - A short paragraph describing your website to a potential visitor.

Main Site Category - A mandatory field to allow your website to be categorised correctly within the directory.

Secondary Site Category - If your site fits into more than one category within the Directory, you can select it here.

Once done, click Submit.

As all submissions are moderated by a member of the Freeola Support Team it can take 24 to 48 hours for your listing to appear within the Directory.

Premium Listing

If you would like your listing to appear at the very top of your chosen category(s) then you can upgrade to a Premium Listing, giving your website prominence in that category and extra styling to further make it stand out from the crowd!

A Premium Listing within the Site Directory is £11.49 (ex VAT) for a full 12 months. This option is also available for non-Freeola websites at just £19.99 (ex VAT).

Freeola Hosted Sites

If your site is hosted by Freeola, and already listed within the Directory, you can quickly upgrade your Listing from the Website Promotion section of your MyFreeola account.

Once on this page, find your domain name within the list and click Upgrade.

The following page will provide a preview of how your Listing will appear. If you would like to alter this, click Edit my Listing otherwise click Upgrade my Listing to be taken to the checkout.

Once payment has been made, your Premium Listing will be moderated by the Freeola Team before appearing in it's new prime location within your selected Category.

Non-Freeola Sites

If your website is held elsewhere you can still add your site to the Site Directory through the Premium Listing offer.

You will require a MyFreeola account for this service - you can create one, or log into your existing account, from here.

Once within your MyFreeola account, expand the Websites & Hosting menu option, then click Website Promotion. The following page will offer a section for Premium Listings and provide a field to enter your domain name within.

Once entered, a quick check will be run on the domain name to ensure that it is eligible for the promotion. Click Continue to continue setting up your promotion.

Once you have completed all the required fields click Submit then review your listing before clicking Checkout to complete the process.

Once payment has been made your Premium Listing will be moderated by the Freeola Team before appearing in it's new prime location within your selected Category.

If you would like to modify the information in your listing, amend the categories it appears in or would like to remove it from the Directory completely, you can do so quickly and easily from the Web Sites Promotion section of your MyFreeola account.

Simply click Edit next to your address, amend the desired information then Submit.

Any changes to records are moderated by a member of Freeola Support before appearing on the website.

If you with to remove your listing from the Directory you can do so temporarily by changing the Hide From Listings drop-down menu to Hide or permanently by clicking Cancel Promotion - you will be asked to confirm this action in a pop-up.

If you wish to reactivate your Listing after fully cancelling, you will be required to create this again, from scratch, using the steps outlined above.
