Password Protecting your InstantPro Website
With the InstantPro Website Builder, you are able to set up password protected areas on your web site so that only visitors to whom you give the password
are able to access the page or site content.
This feature is ideal if you wish to create a small members area on your web site, or if you have some information that you only wish a select audience to see.
Whatever the reason you wish to have password protected areas on your InstantPro web site, it is very easy to do, and this guide will explain the steps required to password protect your pages.
The following link shows a
password protected web page.
HINT: The password is quite easy to guess!
To follow this guide you will need to
login to your MyFreeola account
and open the InstantPro Website Builder from within your account.
We'll begin at the Site Overview screen.
1. The Site Overview screen is where you are able to configure all settings, themes and pages for your InstantPro web site. To password protect a web page on your InstantPro site you will need to choose
the
Password Protection option shown under the
Options heading, as shown in the image below:

2.
Once the password protection option has been selected you will be shown a list of the pages you have created, with options to set a password for each page.

You will notice in the image above, that each page has a picture of a padlock shown to the right of it. This padlock shows the current status of the page.
As these padlocks are all open, this indicates that the pages are not yet password protected.
In this tutorial, the page entitled InstantPro Password Protection will have a password set on it. To do this you will need to click the add password link shown on the right of the page.
3.
Once you have clicked to add a password to your page, a box will appear on screen in which you are able to type the password you wish to set for the page.

Simply type the password you wish to set in to this box, and click the Save button to set your password.
4.
Once you have set your password, you will be shown the screen listing your pages, and the password protection status of each page.

You will see now that the page for which we have specified a password has a locked padlock shown next to it, and also the password which has been specified is shown too, with a change link shown to the right if you need to change the password at any time.
You will notice on the right that for a page which is password protected the option shown is to Remove Password, instead of Add Password. If you no longer wish to password protect your pages you will need to click the Remove Password link.
For this tutorial, only the one page will have a password set, so you will now need to click the Finish button, which will take you back to the Site Overview screen.
5.
If you now preview the page which is password protected you will see a page similar to that shown below.

Once you enter the password on this page, you will be able to view the full page content:

Useful Information
If you set the same password for multiple pages, a visitor to your site will only have to enter the password once and will then have access to all pages protected by that password.
You may also wish to hide password protected pages from your site navigation, so visitors to your site do not know the pages are available on your site. To do this select the Page Manager option on the Site Overview screen
which shows the pages you have created on your site. You will see that shown to the right there is a heading stating Menu and Live.
The Live box represents whether the page is available on the internet, and the Menu box represents whether the page is shown on the main site navigation or not. If you wish to hide a page from the main site navigation simply untick the menu box for the appropriate page.
