How to create a Guest Book

Guest books are simply a single page where people can leave a comment on your website to the owner, or about the site. A good use of the guest book feature is to gather testimonials, feedback or suggestions about your website from your visitors.

1. Creating a guest book in InstantPro couldn't be easier! First of all, click the 'Create New Page' button on the 'Site Overview' page.

2. Next, click the large 'Guest Book' button.

Now fill in the 'Page Name' and 'Title Header' for the guest book. When completed, click next to continue. For more information about the 'Page Name' and 'Title Header' and what they represent, please see our Managing Page & File Names tutorial.

3. This next page is the final step to creating your guest book! Here there are two options to choose from - your guest book can either display any comments automatically, or you can choose to view and approve them first. When you have decided, click the 'Finish' button to create your guest book page.

5. Your guest book page is now created! As you can see from the picture above, I have two comments on my InstantPro guest book. To find out more about comments and moderating your guest book, please read on.

Using your Guest Book

1. From the 'Page Manager', select the edit icon for your new guest book to be taken to the settings for your guestbook. Here you can change how you moderate your guest book at any time, as well as view, edit and delete any comments made.

2. Below each comment there are two options, 'Delete' and 'Remove from Site'. Deleting the comment will remove the comment, along with any records of it. Removing the comment from your site will mean that it will only be visible from your guest book settings page and not on your site.

New comments awaiting approval will appear highlighted in red. To approve a new comment, simply click 'Approve' at the bottom of the comment.

3. To submit comments or 'sign' your Guest Book, you must click the 'Sign Guest Book' button when viewing your guest book online (see step 5 above).

4. Simply fill in the required information and click 'Submit Comment' to submit comments. This comment will either show up straight away on your guest book or you will have to approve it first, depending on your moderation settings.
