Web Space: Upload Guide For Microsoft Publisher 2003
1. Before
you start, please ensure you are connected to the Internet via your
Freeola Connection. FTP and file uploads are only possible when you are
connected to the Internet via Freeola. If you attempt to connect via
another service provider you will receive an error message.
If
you do need to upload using another provider's internet connection then
you can sign up for our package called "Web Freedom" from your
MyFreeola account.
2. Open Publisher, and open the website that you wish to publish
3. Select the File Menu and then click onto Publish to the Web.
4. If
you have not been to this menu previously you will receive a advisory
notice about selecting a web publisher, Cick OK to close this dialogue
and enter the Publish to Web dialogue box.
Within this dialogue box there will be a selection box saying Save in: select the option Add/Modify FTP locations.
5. A new dialogue box will appear asking for the following options to be filled in. The first parameter to enter will be the Name of FTP site, in here enter the webserver you have been given from your MyFreeola account in the following format ftp://freeolawebx.freeola.net , the x within this should be replaced with the server that your website is hosted on. The next parameter is the Log on as: this needs to be changed from anonymous which is the default to User once you have done this please enter the user name you were given within your MyFreeola account which will be in the format sr0xxxxxx. The last parameter is the Password field this time enter the ftp password from within your MyFreeola account.
6. Next select the Add button and then select OK
7. This should return you to the Publish to Web dialogue box with the FTP location you have just added selected select your FTP location and then press the Open button
8. Publisher should now connect to your webspace and show you two folders cgi-shl and htdocs, select the htdocs folder to enter that folder and then select Save.
9. Publisher
will now start generating and uploading your pages to your webspace
folder, once this has completed (this may take a few minutes depending
on your connection speed to the internet and the size of your webspace)
your website should be visible.
