Web Space: Upload Guide For Microsoft Frontpage

1. Before you start, please ensure you are connected to the Internet via your Freeola Connection. FTP and file uploads are only possible when you are connected to the Internet via Freeola. If you attempt to connect via another service provider you will receive an error message.

If you do need to upload using another provider's internet connection then you can sign up for our package called "Web Freedom" from your MyFreeola account.

2. Locate the files on your computer that you wish to upload. From the 'File' Menu, select 'Open' and choose the web site from the file list.

3. Select the 'Publish' command from the 'File Menu'.

4. In the publish web box under "specify the location to publish your web to", you will need to enter your FTP upload address, 'http://' is shown by default. You should replace this with the format - 'ftp://www.yourdomainname/htdocs'. So, if your domain name is tomhoy.co.uk for example, the upload address will be 'ftp://www.tomhoy.co.uk/htdocs'

If you are using a Freeola500 address such as bob@spursfans.co.uk, your upload address will be 'ftp://www.bob.spursfans.co.uk/htdocs'. Click the 'Publish' button. NOTE: your web site will not be viewable on the web if the files are not uploaded into the htdocs directory.

5. Next, your Freeola User Name will be requested. Enter this into the name field and then enter your Freeola Connection Password into the password box and click 'OK'.

6. Your files will now begin to transfer.

7. To view the web page(s) you have uploaded simply open your browser and enter your web site address in the address bar.
