Web Space: Upload Guide For Adobe Dreamweaver CS3

1. Before you start, please ensure you are connected to the Internet via your Freeola Connection. FTP and file uploads are only possible when you are connected to the Internet via Freeola. If you attempt to connect via another service provider you will receive an error message.

If you would rather upload using another provider's internet connection then you can sign up for our package called "Web Freedom" from your MyFreeola account.

2. The first step is to set up a site profile for your Freeola hosted web-site. Load up Dreamweaver, select Site from the menu and then select Manage Sites.

3. In the Manage Sites dialogue box select New and then select  FTP & RDS server.

4.  Give the site a name (this will not affect how the site works and is purely descriptive.

5. The Access type should be set to FTP

FTP host needs to be set to the FTP host from your MyFreeola account, this will be in the format freeolawebX.freeola.net (where X is the last digit of your FTP user name).

Host directory should be set to /htdocs/

Login should be set to your FTP user name from your MyFreeola account.

Password should be set to the FTP password from your MyFreeola account.

Use passive FTP should be ticked as this can help with users connecting from behind firewalls.

Once you have set these press the OK button and then select Done.

6. You can now save files to the remote webserver by going to the File menu then selecting Save to Remote Server (please note that your start file must be called index.html, index.htm or index.php).

7. To view the web page(s) you have uploaded, simply open your browser and enter your web site address in he address bar.
