Web Space: Upload Guide For MyFreeola
Freeola offers a simple solution to uploading your HTML files through your MyFreeola account. Follow the easy instructions below.
NOTE: These instructions are for customers using Microsoft Internet Explorer 6, Internet Explorer 7 varies slightly and follows below. Before you start, please ensure you are connected to the Internet via your Freeola Connection. FTP and file uploads are only possible when you are connected to the Internet via Freeola. If you attempt to connect via another service provider you will receive an error message. If you do need to upload using another provider's internet connection then you can sign up for our package called "Web Freedom" from your MyFreeola account.
1. Log in to MyFreeola.
2. Click on the My Web Sites link.
3. Locate your website name and click on the 'Upload Files' button located to the right.
4. Click the 'Open your website folder' button.
5. A new browser window will open, you should see your 'cgi-shl' & 'htdocs' directories. They should appear as a yellow folder, the same as you would see a folder in Windows. If however they appear as underlined links you will need to click on Tools then Internet Options. In the Internet Options box click on the Advanced tab. Under the Browsing category, tick Enable folder view for FTP sites. You will need to close and re-open Internet Explorer and follow steps 1 - 4 again.
6. Double click on the 'htdocs' directory, provided that no files have been previously uploaded, you should now see a blank screen.
7. Locate the file(s) that you wish to upload on your PC and 'Drag & Drop' them into the the FTP browser window you opened in step 5. At this point, the files should begin to transfer.
8. Once the files have all transferred, enter your web address in the browser address bar window to view your website.
Instructions for using FTP in Internet Explorer 7

Before you start you may need to change your browser settings before you can upload your files. Click on 'Tools' then 'Internet Options' in your browser. In the Internet Options box click on the 'Advanced' tab, and under the Browsing category tick 'Enable folder view for FTP sites'. Click Apply, then OK and restart Internet Explorer before continuing.
1. Log in to MyFreeola.
2. Click on the My Web Sites link.
3. Locate your website name and click on the 'Upload Files' button located to the right.
4. Click the 'Open your website folder' button.
5. A new browser window will open, you should see your 'cgi-shl' & 'htdocs' directorys, go to the Page menu on the right hand side of your browser and select 'Open FTP site in Windows Explorer'.
6. A new browser window will open containing your cgi-shl and htdocs directories; double click on the 'htdocs' directory.
7. Locate the file(s) that you wish to upload on your PC and 'Drag & Drop' them into the the FTP browser window you opened in step 5. At this point, the files should begin to transfer.
8. Once the files have all transferred, enter your web address in the browser address bar window to view your website.
