Adding an Actinic Shopping Cart to Your Website

Important:


By default the VIP Hosting service will not have PERL enabled. If you require PERL to operate this software, please contact our support department so that we may enable it for you. Visit the Support page for contact details.

 

Once you have designed the e-commerce section of your website using the Actinic builder software, you will need to publish it to our web servers in order for your shop to be visible on-line.

 

  1. First log in to your MyFreeola account and retrieve the following information from the VIP settings menu:

    FTP Server Address
    FTP Server User Name
    FTP Server Password
     

  2. Within the Actinic Catalog Software, select the Web Menu option and then select Network Setup.

  3. You will then see an image similar to the one at the bottom of this page.

  4. Fill in the following parameters in the Network Setup Dialogue

  5. Catalog URL: should be set to http://www.yourdomainname.com/acatalog.

  6. CGI-BIN URL: should be set to http://www.yourdomainname.com/cgi-bin

  7. Codebase: should be set to ./

  8. Path From CGI-BIN to Online Store Folder: should be set to ../htdocs/acatalog

  9. Web Site URL: should be set to http://www.yourdomainname.com

  10. Path to the Perl Shell: should be set to /usr/bin/perl

  11. Use Relative CGI-BIN URLs in Catalog Pages should be left unticked

  12. Server Host: should be set to FTP Server Address from your MyFreeola VIP settings page

  13. Username: should be set to FTP User Name from your MyFreeola VIP settings page

  14. Password: should be set to VIP Server Password from your MyFreeola VIP settings page

  15. Path to CGI-BIN: should be set to cgi-bin

  16. Path from CGI-BIN to Online Store Folder as Viewed by the FTP Server: should be set to ../htdocs/acatalog

  17. Ignore Passive Transfer Errors: should be ticked

  18. Use Enhanced FTP: should be ticked

  19. SMTP Server: should be set to localhost

  20. Once you have set these settings please click the Test button and you should get a message saying that the network settings test was successful.

  21. Click OK, then OK again on the Network Setup dialog

  22. Select the Web menu again and then select Publish to Web

  23. Your Actinic Catalog should then be uploaded to our web servers.
