Here are brief instructions for configuring Mozilla Thunderbird to work with Freeola E-mail Freedom. These instructions should be relevant to all current versions of Mozilla Thunderbird. There may be slight visual/wording differences between versions but the underlying procedure is the same.
To be able to Send & Receive e-mail with Freeola E-mail Freedom, you will first of all have to make some really easy changes to your E-mail Client's settings.
1. Load the Mozilla Thunderbird program.
2. From the menu bar select Tools, then Account Settings.
3. Click on the Outgoing Server (SMTP) tab on the side menu.
4. Select the outgoing server you are currently using and then click the Edit button.
5. Change Server Name field to smtp-auth.freeola.net.
6. Under the Security and Authentication tick Use name and password and fill in your e-mail username within the relevant field. This will take the form of an 'sr' number, for example sr0123456-001. Please Note: This information is case sensitive and will not work if entered incorrectly. If you do not have this information to hand it is readily available through the View/Edit E-mail Addresses link within the left-hand navigation section of your MyFreeola account.
7. Make sure that Use secure connection is set to NO.
8. Click OK to finish the set-up and to allow your e-mail to be used from any internet connection!
