Setting Up EmailPro in Windows Mail

Welcome to the Freeola Internet customer support pages. This guide is designed to help with setting up an EmailPro email address on Windows Mail. For more internet help topics please visit our main Support Page.

 

Before you start, you should make a note of the E-mail Address that you would like to setup as well as the associated password. This information can be obtained by logging in to your MyFreeola account and selecting View/Edit E-mail Addresses from the left hand navigation. You will then be shown a list of e-mail addresses and their login details.



  1. Load the Windows Mail program from the start menu.

  2. From the menu bar select Tools, then Accounts. In the window that opens, click the Add button.

  3. From the window that opens click E-Mail Account to highlight it blue and then select Next.

  4. Enter the name you wish to show on outgoing e-mails within the Display name field and click Next.

  5. Enter the Freeola e-mail address you wish to add into the program and click Next.

  6. For the incomoing server type select IMAP or POP3 depending on the setting in your MyFreeola account (default is POP3). The incoming server address will take the form of yourdomainname.freeolamail.net where yourdomainname is your domain name with any dots ( . ) replaced with hyphens ( - ). Enter smtp.freeolamail.net into the SMTP outgoing mail server box and tick the box labelled "Outgoing server requires authentication". Click Next.

  7. In the next window E-mail username will need your Freeola E-Mail Address entered into it. In the Password field enter your Freeola E-Mail Password. Please Note: This information is case sensitive and will not work if entered incorrectly. If you do not have this information to hand it is readily available through the View/Edit E-mail Addresses link within the left-hand navigation section of your MyFreeola account. Once this information is entered click Next.

  8. The final page of the setup wizard will simply ask if you wish to download your e-mail straight away or not. If you do not wish to begin using your Freeola e-mail address immediately simply tick the box that reads Do not download my e-mail at this time. Once you are happy with your selection please click Finish.

Using SSL with EmailPro

As a subscriber to Freeola EmailPro you are able to utilise an SSL connection for both sending and receiving of your e-mails.

 

In order to use this feature with your account, please ensure you have selected the 'SSL' option, for both incoming and outgoing servers, and also the following port numbers are set, where applicable:

 

SSL - POP3: 995
SSL - IMAP: 993
SSL - SMTP - 465
