Here are brief instructions for setting up IncrediMail to work with a Freeola e-mail address. These instructions should be relevant to all current versions of IncrediMail. There may be slight visual/wording differences between versions but the underlying procedure is the same.
If you haven't done so already you will be required to download and install the IncrediMail program. Once installed, load IncrediMail.
From the menu bar select 'Tools', 'Accounts' then the 'Mail' tab if it is not selected already.
Click 'Add' and, in the new window that opens, select the Let me configure settings myself radio button before clicking 'Next'. Enter the name you want to appear on outgoing e-mails from you in the Your name is: field. For example if your name is John Smith you may want to enter 'John Smith' or 'Mr J Smith' within this field. Next to Your email address: enter the Freeola e-mail address you wish to add and click 'Next'
A page will appear prompting for your email server names. By default the Incoming e-mail server type should be set to POP3, if it is not set to this select this from the drop-down menu. Enter mail.freeola.net into the POP3 incoming mail server box and smtp.freeola.net into the SMTP outgoing mail server box. Click Next.
Please Note: This SMTP server will only work on Freeola Internet connections. If you have signed up for Freeola EmailPro please visit the dedicated article as settings differ slightly from those shown above. Freeola Email Freedom customers should scroll to the bottom of this page for instructions on the additional changes required for you to send e-mail.In the Username field you will need to enter your Freeola E-Mail Address. In the Password field enter your Freeola E-Mail Password. Please Note: This information is case sensitive and will not work if entered incorrectly. If you do not have this information to hand it is readily available through the View/Edit E-mail Addresses link within the left-hand navigation section of your MyFreeola account.
Click Finish to finish the account setup. Your e-mail address is now set up in IncrediMail ready to send and receive e-mail.
Information for Email Freedom Customers
If have signed up for our Email Freedom service you will be required to enter
'smtp-auth.freeola.net' as your outgoing mail server. This server also requires you to select
My Server Requires Authentication in order to function correctly, you will also be required to select Use Same Settings As Incoming Server or re-enter your e-mail username and password were prompted.
Some internet providers also restrict the use of certain ports for sending messages. Because of this we would also advise entering the Advanced section of your e-mail account set-up and changing the SMTP port from 25 to 2025.
