E-Mail: Setting Up Microsoft Outlook Express 5 for Macintosh
Here are brief instructions for setting up Microsoft Outlook Express 5 to work with a Freeola e-mail address.
1. Load Outlook Express 5.
2. From the menu bar select 'Tools', then 'Accounts'. In the window that opens, select 'New'.
3. Your Name - In the 'Display name' field, enter a name for your e-mail account (eg John Smith). This name will appear in the from box when and e-mail is received from this account. Click the right arrow to continue.
4. Internet Address - Tick 'I already have an e-mail address that I'd like to use' and enter your e-mail address in the 'E-mail address' field. Click the right arrow to continue.
5. E-mail Server Names - 'My incoming mail server' should be set to 'POP'. Enter 'mail.freeola.net' in the 'Incoming mail (POP, IMAP) server' field and 'smtp.freeola.net' in the 'Outgoing mail (SMTP) server field. Click the right arrow to continue.
6. Internet Mail Logon - In the 'Account ID' field, enter your Freeola E-Mail User Name (eg sr0123456-001) and in the 'Password' field enter your Freeola E-Mail Password, tick 'Save password'. If you do not have this information, visit MyFreeola and make a note of the information for the relevant e-mail address which can be found in the 'E-mail Adresses' section. It will look something like this: 'sr0123456-001'. Click the right arrow to continue.
7. In the 'Account name' field, enter a display name for your e-mail account and click the 'Finish' button. At this point, your account has succesfully been set up in Outlook Express.
8. In the Accounts box, you should now see listed the account you just configured. Oultlook Express is now ready to send and receive E-mail on this account.
