Welcome to the Freeola Internet customer support pages. This guide is designed to help with setting up an email address within Netscape Communicator. For more internet help topics please visit our main Support Page.
Here are brief instructions for setting up Netscape Communicator to work with a Freeola e-mail address. These instructions should be relevant to all current versions of Netscape Communicator. There may be slight visual/wording differences between versions but the underlying procedure is the same.
Please note that Netscape Communicator tends to be quite complicated to set up more than one account compared to Microsoft Outlook Express. For this reason we recommend you use Outlook Express if you require more than one e-mail address on the same machine. Outlook Express comes with as standard with most Windows versions these days. 1. Run Netscape.
2. Go to the Edit menu and select Preferences.
3. If you are using a Mac, select identity from Mail & Newsgroups and make sure that the Use Internet Config is disabled.
4. Select Mail Servers from Mail & Newsgroups.
5. If there is already an Incoming Mail Server listed in the Incoming Mail Servers section then select it and click Edit otherwise click Add.
6. In the Mail Server info window, the settings should be as follows:

'Your Freeola E-Mail User Name. This will take the form of an 'sr' number, for example sr0123456-001. In the Password field enter your Freeola E-Mail Password. Please Note: This information is case sensitive and will not work if entered incorrectly. If you do not have this information to hand it is readily available through the View/Edit E-mail Addresses link within the left-hand navigation section of your MyFreeola account. |
7. If you would like the e-mail program to remember your password, tick the Save Password option but don't enter the password yet.
8. Once you are satisfied with the settings click OK.
9. The preferences window in the Outgoing Mail Server area should be set as follows:

Please Note: This SMTP server will only work on Freeola Internet connections. If you have signed up for Freeola Email Freedom please click here for setting up your SMTP server details. |

10. Once you are happy with your settings, you may then click OK.
To send and receive e-mail, run Netscape Messenger from within the Netscape Navigator program.
