Welcome to the Freeola Internet customer support pages. This guide is designed to help with setting up an email address within Mac Mail. For more internet help topics please visit our main Support Page.

Here are brief instructions for setting up Mac Mail to work with a Freeola e-mail address. These instructions should be relevant to all current versions of Mac Mail. There may be slight visual/wording differences between versions but the underlying procedure is the same.

1. Load the Mac Mail program.

2. Once you've opened Mail, please click on the menu labeled Mail and select Preferences. Make sure you have the Accounts icon selected. In this new window, select the + icon to add a new account.

3. Full Name can be your name, or whatever text you'd like to be seen as your name when you send e-mail. For example if your name is John Smith you may want to enter 'John Smith' or 'Mr J Smith' within this field.

4. Email Address should be your Freeola e-mail address.

5. In the Password field enter your Freeola E-Mail Password. Please Note: This information is case sensitive and will not work if entered incorrectly. Select Continue to proceed with the set-up.

6. The Account Type field should be set to POP by default, if not, select it.
Description can be set to whatever you like, but it is strongly recommended that you use something descriptive that will enable you to identify this account at a later date.

7. Incoming Mail Server should be set to mail.freeola.net. Within the User Name box you will need to enter your Freeola E-Mail User Name. This will take the form of an 'sr' number, for example sr0123456-001. The Password box should be automatically completed with the information given on the previous page.

Please Note: This information is case sensitive and will not work if entered incorrectly. If you do not have this information to hand it is readily available through the View/Edit E-mail Addresses link within the left-hand navigation section of your MyFreeola account.

8. The program will now check the settings you have entered, once this is successful you will need to set-up the Outgoing Mail (or SMTP) Server.

9. Description should be set to something memorable, we would recommend smtp.freeola.net for the following example, however this will not affect the running of your account in anyway. The Outgoing Mail Server should be set to smtp.freeola.net. Leave Use Authentication unticked.

10. After another server check you will be prompted to select Mail Security, leave this unticked and set to None. In order to finish the set-up press Continue and ensure Take account on-line is ticked before clicking the Create option. You are now ready to use Mail for OS X with Freeola.
