Domain Hosting: Transferring A Domain Away From Freeola/GetDotted If you have a Domain Name registered via Getdotted, whether or not it's hosted at Freeola, we can transfer the Domain completely away to another provider for a small administration fee (currently £12.00 excluding VAT per Domain). Please note that transfers away from Freeola/GetDotted are absolute. We do not retain any involvement or control of your domain name and your new service provider will be totally responsible for its management. If you would prefer just to use hosting services of another provider and retain Get Dotted as your domain management company (e.g. you can still renew at our cheap prices), simply use our change DNS servers option. With either process to change the management of your domain name, you must obtain and specify the following information from your new service provider: ... for UK domain names (e.g. *.co.uk, *.org.uk, *.me.uk), your new provider will need to provide you with an IPS TAG (Freeola's IPS Tag is FREEOLA). ... for GTLD domain names (e.g. *.com, *.org, *.info, *.biz, *.net), your new provider will need to provide you with an Administration E-mail Address (Freeola's administration e-mail address is domainadmin@getdotted.com and transferin@getdotted.com). ... for CentralNic domain names (e.g. *.uk.net, *.uk.com, *.eu.com, *.us.com), your new provider will need to provide you with Technical & Billing Handles (Freeola's Technical and Billing Handles are I22043 and I22043). To transfer away: 1. Log into your MyFreeola account. 2. Select the 'Transfer Domains In/Out' option from within the left-hand menu. 3. Check the box next to the domain and click the 'Transfer Out' button. 4. You will be taken to a page asking you to confirm which type of transfer you are looking to complete. For a complete transfer out to a different host, please select the second option 'I want to use hosting services from another company.' 5. On step 2, select the option 'Transfer Domain(s) Out'. 6. Type in the IPS tag, admin e-mail address or Technical Handle - whichever is relevant, and complete the 'Reason you are leaving' box and click 'Continue'. 7. Check that the information given is correct and click 'Continue' 8. Follow the payment procedure on screen. Once the transaction has completed the domain should be transferred away within 48 hours. The above procedure is the fastest way to complete the transfer, however if you do not have a MyFreeola account or you would like to pay with a method other than card then please use our transfer out form. We will endeavour to process the form as soon as we receive it however please be aware that this method may be slower than using the online procedure.
