Welcome to the Freeola Internet customer support pages. This guide is designed to help with pointing your domain name you hold with Freeola at your Blogger blog. For more internet help topics please visit our main Support Page.
Do you have a Blogger account already that you want your domain name to point to or wish to set one up using your domain name you have with Freeola? Then follow this simple guide to doing just that.
Firstly you will need to log into Blogger, or sign up an account if you do not already own a Google account. You may well already have a Google account if you use Gmail or any other of Google's Services. You can get to Blogger here.
To sign up for a Google account click "Create a Blog" on Blogger's homepage, otherwise sign in using the form at the top of the page. You will then need to "Create a Blog" if you have not done so already, you will be asked what title you want to give your blog, what URL you would like to use something like http://freeolablog.blogspot.com and possibly ask you to answer a security question. You will also then be asked what template you wish to use with your blog and then you will be notified that your blog has been created. Click through to "Start Blogging" to view your blog control panel.
If you already had a Blogger account you will just need to go straight into your blogging control panel, otherwise you should already be there if you have just signed up, now go to "Settings", then "Publishing" and then look for "Switch to:" and click "Custom Domain" next to it. Next to where is states "Already own a domain?" click "Switch to advanced settings".
Now type in your domain name you have registered with Freeola into the "Your Domain" field. Keep "Use a missing files host" set to no and fill in the security verification. Then click "Save Settings".
You have now done everything you need to do on Blogger's side of things, now for changing your DNS records with Freeola to point towards Blogger. Go to the View/Edit Domain Details section of your MyFreeola account, then tick one of your domains you wish to point at your blog and click the "Change DNS" button below.
On the page that appears choose the "Create/Modify Custom Web DNS Records (Advanced)" option and click "Continue". Click "Continue" again to pass the Advanced Users Only warning, then click "Edit" next to your domain name and set the A Record to one of the following IP addresses:
• 216.239.32.21
• 216.239.34.21
• 216.239.36.21
• 16.239.38.21
Now click "Submit" to save the record, and do the same for the www. record of your domain name. Then click "Finish". You will have to wait up to an hour for the changes to take effect however your domain name should now be pointing towards your Blogger blog!
