Here are set-up instructions for iMac or PowerMac computers running Mac OS 8 or Mac OS 9 and how to configure your modem settings. You can check which version of the system software your computer is using by clicking on your desktop and selecting 'About This Macintosh' from the Apple Menu.
1. Double-click the 'Internet Setup Assistant' icon located in your Internet folder.
2. Click 'Yes' to the question 'Would you like to set up your computer to use the internet?'
3. Click 'Yes' to the question 'Do you already have an Internet Account?' and click the right arrow to continue.

7. At this stage you are asked for a Freeola User Name and Freeola Password.
If you haven't signed up to Freeola yet, just use the Connection User ID: 'freeola' and Connection Password: 'freeola' for immediate free and fast access. You can then sign up to Freeola on-line and use your new Connection User ID when you reconnect.
8. Click the right arrow.
9. Click 'No' to the question 'Is there an IP address for this configuration?' and click the right arrow.
10. Keep the default of 'No' when asked whether you need a 'PPP Script', then click the right arrow to continue.

14. Click 'No' to the proxy server question and click the right arrow to continue.
15. On the final page of the Assistant, click 'Go Ahead' to set the computer up for use with Freeola.
16. To connect to Freeola, just load your web browsing program such as Netscape, Internet Explorer or your e-mail program such as Microsoft Outlook Express. If your computer does not automatically dial the internet (or hang up), use the program called 'Remote Access Status' which can be found on the Apple Menu. This program is used to manually connect and disconnect from the internet.
