The settings you may need to check are:
• VPI: 0
• VCI: 38
• Encapsulation: PPPoA
• Modulation:VC-MUX
The other settings can usually be left to default.
Once the settings have been entered you will need to connect using the modem's software. Once the modem has connected you are free to surf the internet.
If you experience problems, your modem may require you to alter or enter certain settings for the connection to work, generally the modems default settings should be correct but it may also be worth ensuring that the modems settings are set to the settings Freeola require.
IF YOU ARE USING A BROADBAND ROUTER:
ADSL routers allow you to share your broadband connection between one or more computers or other internet capable devices. As the process is literally different for every single set-up, detailed instructions are beyond the remit of this simple guide but here are some pointers.
If you purchased your router from Freeola at the time of ordering broadband, you should find specific instructions on how to configure the router for Freeola supplied with the router.
For other machines to be able to share the broadband, first make sure that the router is able to provide broadband to one machine successfully. You'll need to ensure that the router and other machines are on the same IP address range (e.g. 10.0.0.x or 192.168.1.x) and the other machines use the IP address of the router as their default gateway. Alternatively you can use DHCP functions within the router to automatically provide this information.
Once you have set your IP address and connected your router you need to enter your settings. To connect to the router you will need to type an IP address into your browser's address bar. The correct IP will be specified in the router manual. You will then need to enter a username and password, again if they have been left to default they will be noted in the manual.
You will need to make sure these settings are entered into the correct location, most other settings can be left as default:
• VPI: 0
• VCI: 38
• Encapsulation: PPPoA
• Modulation: VC-MUX
• MTU: 1500
Once these settings are correct then submit, save and reboot. The router should now reset and log on to the internet. You should now be connected.
