Freeola has recently changed the numbers used for 0845 dial-up connections in order to make our service faster & more efficient. If you haven't done so already, we would ask that all Pay As You Go Dial-Up customers change to the new numbers with immediate effect. The new telephone numbers provide the same service as the previous lines and are still charged at standard BT Local Call rates (that's from just 1p per minute). All you will need to do is change the number dialled to either 0845 604 3070 or 0845 604 3080, whichever works best for you. No other settings will need to be changed. Below are full instructions for changing the number for your Freeola dial-up connection on your operating system.
Please note, the number change applies to our 0845 Pay As You Go Dial-Up users only, and broadband and Anytime customers do not need to make any changes.

Change Phone Numbers: PC running Windows XP Home Edition

Click "Start" on your taskbar and select "Control Panel", make sure the control panel is set to "Classic Mode".
Double click "Internet Options".
Select the "Connections" tab.
Select your Freeola connection from the list and click the "Settings" button.
Click the "Properties" button.
Type either 0845 604 3070 or 0845 604 3080 in to the "Phone number" box.
Click "OK" on all of the windows.
You should now be able to connect to the internet with the new number.

Change Phone Numbers: PC running Windows Millenium Edition

Open up the Dial-Up Networking folder by going to the "Start" menu and choosing "Settings" and then "Dial-Up Networking".
Right-click on the icon for your Freeola connection and choose "Properties" from the menu.
The connection properties window will appear. Type either 0845 604 3070 or 0845 604 3080 into the "Telephone number" box
Click 'OK' to save the new number.

You should now be able to connect with the new phone number.

Change Phone Numbers: PC running Windows 95/98

Open up the Dial-Up Networking folder by going to the "Start" menu and choosing "Programs", then "Accessories" and then "Dial-Up Networking".
Right-click on the icon for your Freeola connection and choose "Properties" from the menu.
The connection properties window will appear. Type either 0845 604 3070 or 0845 604 3080 into the "Telephone number" box
Click 'OK' to save the new number.

You should now be able to connect with the new phone number.

Change Phone Numbers: PC running Windows 2000

Go to the "Start" button, then choose "Settings" and then "Network and Dial-Up Connections".
Find your Freeola connection icon and double click it.
Now click "Properties".
You should see the area code and phone number on the "General" tab.
Type in either 0845 604 3070 or 0845 604 3080.
Click 'OK' to save the new settings.

You should now be able to connect with the new phone number.

Change Phone Numbers: PC running Mac OSX

Open "System Preferences" from the Apple Menu.
Go to the "Network" icon.
Make sure it's set to "Show" the modem that you're using, and then click the "PPP" tab.
Change the "Telephone Number" to either 0845 604 3070 or 0845 604 3080.
Click the "Apply Now" button.

You should now be able to connect with the new phone number.

Change Phone Numbers: PC running Mac OS 8/9

Open the apple menu and then choose control panels and then "Remote Access".
Change the phone number to 0845 604 3070 or 0845 604 3080.
Close the window.

You should now be able to connect with the new phone number.

Change Phone Numbers: PC running Mac OS 7.x

Open the apple menu and then choose control panels and then "PPP".
Change the phone number to 0845 604 3070 or 0845 604 3080.
Close the window.

You should now be able to connect with the new phone number.
