Many people do not realise that when they purchase a domain name their contact details are made available on an online public database called WHOIS. Freeola has launched a new service to allow you to protect your privacy by opting out of this database.
Some domain types, such as .uk domains, can opt out of WHOIS free of charge, but for other domain types Freeola's new WHOIS Privacy service allows you to choose to keep your contact details private. Our service replaces information about you with proxy contact details - so you can still be contacted through a web form, but your details are kept private and spam is prevented while still ensuring that genuine enquiries are received. All for only £4.49 for one year or, if you subscribe for longer, the annual cost is reduced.
When buying new domain names from GetDotted you will automatically be offered the WHOIS Privacy service as part of the checkout process. If you already own domain names you can add this service in the MyFreeola Control Panel by visiting your 'Domain Details' page, selecting the relevant domain name, going into 'Hosting and Settings' and changing the 'Privacy Options.'
