- MTN Expands Ivory Coast Presence
- South Africa-based MTN Group's Cote d'Ivoire subsidiary has acquired fixed-line operator Arobase Telecom and internet service provider Afnet for an undisclosed sum.
- Motorola Wins Pakistan WiMAX Contract
- Motorola has won a WiMAX contract from wireless broadband internet provider wi-tribe Pakistan. Datamonitor estimates the value of the contract to be approximately $30m over three years.
- HP Pays $360m for SAN Vendor LeftHand
- Hewlett-Packard has agreed to acquire storage virtualization and SAN provider LeftHand Networks for $360m in a counter-move to Dell's acquisition of LeftHand rival EqualLogic for $1.4bn last November.
- Lawson Posts Q1 Loss
- Enterprise software and services provider Lawson Software has reported a net loss of $2.52m for the first quarter 2009, against net income of $5.58m a year ago, on revenue up 2% at $190.91m.
