2. Which VIP Tariff is Best for Me?
The Freeola VIP Broadband range offers extremely generous Data Usage allowances for all kinds of users. For general internet, e-mail use and download use, the basic 20GB (gigabyte) peak time monthly tariff will be plenty (you can view over 5,000 web pages per GB!). All packages come with unlimited off-peak allowance.
Heavy internet users such as connections for offices, businesses, online gamers and general power users will want to look at one of our larger data allowance packages.
All Packages are all split into peak (Weekdays 7am-7pm) and off-peak (Evenings 7pm-7am and ALL Weekend).
Whichever package you choose, don't worry, every Freeola Broadband customer receives a free powerful control panel called MyFreeola. Here you can easily keep an eye on how much data you're using during the peak and off-peak hours of the month and if you find yourself using more (or less) than expected, it's easy to regrade your tariff online.
3. What if I exceed my chosen Data Usage limit?
Don't worry! Extra data usage is charged at just £0.72 per GB (or part thereof) and you can check your data usage in the MyFreeola Control Panel to keep track of your usage. And it's easy to regrade to a different package for the next month if you find yourself regularly exceeding your chosen tariff.
4. What speed will I get using Freeola VIP Broadband?
Typically you can expect up to 16mb connection speeds (with a theoretical maxium of up to 24mb). Actual speeds will vary to give you the best speed possible to ensure a reliable service. Speed can be dependant on a number of factors like the quality of wiring in your property and the distance from your local telephone exchange. Anything above 2Mb will provide superb speeds for browsing the internet and downloading large files. To find out what connection speed your line is likely to provide, take your Broadband Speed Test.
VIP Broadband also offers improved upload speeds in comparison with Freeola's regular Home Broadband. You can now experience upload speeds of up to 832kb rather than 448kb so you can transfer those all important files even faster.
5. Can I get Wireless Broadband from Freeola?
Yes, all Freeola Broadband packages are fully compatible with wireless networking! When you Sign-up and choose your Freeola Broadband tariff, you'll be offered the option to add the wireless equipment as a simple upgrade. And if you buy Wireless equipment when ordering Freeola Broadband we'll pre-configure your chosen router to connect straight from the box. Check out our handy Wireless Broadband and Wireless Networking Guide for more.
6. How do I switch to Freeola with a Free Migration?
If you already have broadband on your BT line from another provider (e.g. BT, Wanadoo, AOL, Tiscali etc.), you can switch to any of Freeola's great value broadband tariffs for FREE. The process takes 5-10 working days, and is usually seamless so that your broadband will continue working throughout the process. You'll need a Migration Access Code (sometimes referred to as a MAC code) from your current internet provider. Be sure not to cancel your connection with your current provider (otherwise your broadband access will cease until re-activation). Then, simply sign up in the normal way. You'll be asked for your MAC code during the process.
7. Do I have a long contract or other obligations?
No. While Freeola Broadband has previously been available with a short contract, we now have no minimum term contract. So we won't tie you in, or require you to take out other services for 12-18 months like some other providers! If you wish to cancel or migrate, we merely require 30 working days notification before notice is due for your next month's broadband payment.
